EVCON - Our Emergency Vehicle Conspicuity Scoring System
Each year many emergency vehicles are involved in collisions despite
the use of emergency lighting and sirens that are intended to attract
attention. EMS safety is a priority for Crestline, and delivering
innovative solutions that make significant improvements for the
industry is our ultimate goal.
After searching the world for answers regarding conspicuity, Crestline
learned that adequate research did not exist. Our response was to
carry out such research and deliver a system that would allow a
scientific approach to evaluating
your vehicles level of conspicuity - the ability to seize
the immediate attention of all persons within visual range.
We believe that you must be seen to be safe.
EVCON Quick Score
This system will allow you to quickly calculate an approximate EVCON score
for your emergency vehicle. EVCON is based on your vehicle's colours, pattern,
and decal material. From the drop down menus below, please select the information
that best describes your emergency vehicle.
The colour on your vehicle should fit into one of the following categories:
- Painted: Paint is applied to the vehicle and is non-reflective.
- Non-reflective: A non-reflective decal material is used for vehicle markings.
- Reflective - Engineering: A reflective decal material without a visible
pattern on the surface.
- Reflective - Prismatic: A reflective decal material with a visible pattern
such as triangles, circles, diamonds, etc. on the surface (i.e. Diamond Grade,
Reflexite, Avery 911 EVG, etc.)
